Chris is a class A member of the PGA of America and has been teaching golf since his college days 20 years ago at Iowa State University. This is where he started teaching summer Jr Camps and was the captain of the golf team. Chris is an accomplished competitive player himself and has won many local and regional events in the Minnesota PGA Section and loves to continue keeping his game sharp. A native of Rosemount MN, Chris has most recently been teaching and promoting the game at the University of Minnesota and before that, Northfield Golf Club as the Head Golf Professional for 6 years.
Chris feels it is important to be able to teach the game to all ages and playing abilities along with all facets of the game including the mental side. No matter where you are with your golf game, Chris will be able to help you enhance your swing, stroke, or mind without taking away your personal attributes. He feels every golf swing has something unique to offer and will only help change what needs to be changed. Chris Thinks of himself as more of a Golf Coach than a swing instructor knowing it’s more about what you put into your game than having the “perfect” golf swing.
Chris’s Teaching philosophy is to make sure the student is having FUN no matter what their level, which is what makes this game so great! He will start with the moment of impact and gradually stepping you through to the full swing. This allows the student to see immediate results and feedback from the lesson.
Peterson works with the latest in technology and video analysis, which is available to all of his students for visual clarification. He feels it is also important to keep the communication lines open via email, phone, and text throughout the professional relationship. Chris is excited about his new, youngest student, his one year old son Fletcher, and is looking forward to the day he is “Teein it High and Lettin it Fly!”
